What It Means to Build an EarthCraft Home EarthCraft House is a volunteer program for home builders. The EarthCraft House designation verifies that the homes will perform 30% better than code built homes in the area of energy efficiency and include elements of durability and indoor health as well. EarthCraft House is a regionally recognized product (VA, AL, SC, GA, TN) that provides home builders with a label that means the home owner will save on their operating, health and repair costs. By becoming an EarthCraft House Builder Member, Jim has completed training that educated him on techniques that will result in homes that: Save on operating, health and repair costs Conserve resources and energy Improve indoor air and water quality Enhance quiet, durability and comfort EarthCraft House is endorsed by the Home Builders Association of Virginia, managed by Virginia Sustainable Building Network, Southface Energy Institute, and the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association. Eagle Place Homes is currently constructing Frederick County’s first all green subdivision, Shady Elm Farms. Jim Gibson will work with an EarthCraft House Technical Consultant to insure that all homes in Shady Elm Farms will earn the EarthCraft House designation.
